If you have recently relocated to Cornelius or are planning a relocation
the following information will help you get settled quickly.

- The city's water supply comes from the Hillsboro transmission line that
goes through our city. The water is stored in a 1.5 million gallon
reservoir before it goes to the distribution system. There is no
fluoridation of the water supply.

- A private license firm provides garbage, trash and refuse service for
the City of Cornelius. Rates for service are uniform and approved
by the City Council.

- Drivers Licenses
- Driver's license examinations are given at the Hillsboro office of
the Department of Motor Vehicles.

- Dog License and Control
- All dogs are required to be licensed. Licenses are issued by Washington
County and may be obtained at the

- Dogs are not permitted to run loose and must be on the owner's property
or on a leash. Complaints regarding animals are handled by the
Washington County Sheriff's Office Animal Control.

each month. These bills may be paid in person or
